Julia Handl is a Professor in Decision Sciences in Alliance Manchester Business School at the University of Manchester. She sits on the management board of the University of Manchester’s Institute for Data Science and AI and is a member of ELLIS.

Prof Handl research sits at the interface between optimization and machine learning, with a particular interest in the use of multiobjective optimization in a machine learning context, and the use of graph-neural networks to integrate relational information into learning problems. Her work is highly interdisciplinary, with applications of interest including biology, health, engineering and business domains.
